The Idea
After her husband’s death, Cecília returns alone to the family home in Angra. As she prepares to let go, a young diver draws her back through memory, motherhood and the person she was before grief narrowed the world around her.
The Visual World
Salt air, still rooms, old objects and water in constant motion. The island feels both real and suspended in memory—a place where time folds quietly and the sea can return what life has taken away.
The Build
Executive production centered the conditions the story needed: intimacy, patience and a close relationship between performance and place. Every production decision protected the film’s emotional reveal rather than announcing it.
What We Made
A narrative short film supported by a visual world built to extend through key art, trailer, festival materials and editorial storytelling.
